About Us

The Chamonix beginnings and Mont Blanc Lodge (MBL)

Laura and Nick met in Chamonix Mont Blanc in 2008. Laura was working in the tourism industry having spent a lot of time travelling all over the world working for the likes of Hilton, Marriott and other 5* hotels and resorts. Nick, at the time, was running his catered chalet called Mont Blanc Lodge. He bought the chalet in 2001 and ran a very successful chalet business for many years.

A new life for our young family

In 2013 we had our first child. It became apparent that Mont Blanc Lodge (or MBL as everyone always called it) was no longer suitable to live and work in with a young family. In 2015, MBL Chamonix was sold, and after a long search (and baby no2) we came across La Ferme Du Lynx - a former gite and guest house. It was absolutely perfect for us to have the dream of a chalet/gite business in the Alps and maintain a fantastic family home for our growing family. MBL Vernaz was born! Our wealth of experience within the hospitality trade guarantees you a warm welcome and a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in the Portes du Soleil.

Mont Blanc Lodge at La Ferme Du Lynx

We look forward to welcoming you to Mont Blanc Lodge at La Ferme Du Lynx. Our fantastic property is ready to offer you incredibly comfortable and spacious accommodation set in an acre of grounds offering orchards, lawns, terraces and more.

La Vernaz, the Portes Du Soleil and the Massif Du Chablais

La Vernaz is strategically positioned in the meeting of La Vallee D'Aulps and La Vallee Verte. The immense Portes Du Soleil mega resort is a mere 10 minute drive to the lifts of St Jean D'Aulps and La Grande Terche, a 20 Minute Drive to the Super Morzine lift which gets you into the heart of this incredible ski area set over a staggering 1036km2 terrain. We are also a similar distance from the lifts of the Abondance Valley allowing you to experience the Portes Du Soleil from the other side. But that's not all! While the 12 resorts that make up the linked area known as the Portes Du Soleil are literally on our doorstep, there are a great many unknown "local" resorts all within 10 to 20 minutes that open up a further 550km of marked piste and enormous back country off piste potential.
